What camping here is like
Camp is what you make of it. Some folks pitch a tent by the river and don't move for a week. Others roll in for a single weeknight. And honestly, some of the best days at camp are a quiet Tuesday.
Ten communal fire pits
Ten communal fire pits are scattered around camp, and they are where the evenings land. There are no personal fires at limited sites, so pull up a seat at one of ours, meet your neighbors, and stay until the stars come out.
First come, first served
Tent sites are not numbered, and you do not reserve them. Find a patch that feels right and set up. You can pre-register online first, so you breeze through check-in when you roll in.
Camp during the week
Weekends can get busy, but weekdays are blissfully chill. Pitch a tent, snag a spot by the river, soak up the quiet, and light a cozy fire in the communal pit.
We open the second Saturday of April and wrap up the second Saturday of October, though weather can nudge those dates. And there is no cell service once you are up the Mountain Loop Highway, so grab directions and anything you need to look up before you leave town.
Do I need to be a member?
Yes. TRC is a private, queer-centered campground for LGBTQ+ adults 21 and up. What changes between membership levels is how overnight camping is paid for: free members pay per night, while most annual members are already covered. Party and event costs apply either way.
